By the way, the trip down the coast from Acapulco to Punta Galera was lovely and uneventful. We sailed, we motored and the autopilot worked beautifully. To geek a moment for those interested, this is what we did. Instead of rigging the tiller pilot to the tiller as designed, I rigged it to the wind vane. This way, there is absolutely no load on the gizmo, wind wind vane rig does all the heavy work while the auto pilot simply acts as the wind, sort of. Anyway, it works very, very well and I cannot come up with any reason to change it. Done on that.

One night on the beach a feast and fire was organized, mostly by the Lost Boys. A local family cooked up a bunch of food, came out to the boats to collect all of us in their very big, fast pang and proceeded to serve up cold beers and cocktails until the wee hours of the morning. Much music was made, stories told and laughter at the stars as the night went on. Some young Mexicans were invited over with their guitars and they were a blast.
